We had our 2nd induction with Mrs Tay this afternoon. Not as boring as I thought it would be, we played games and carried out some activities that spies up the 2 hours :)

And at the end of the session, she shared this with us, which I would like to share with my dear friends who are in the teaching profession now, and those who are studying to become one in near future....

What Is A Teacher?

A teacher is someone who sees each child as a unique person and encourages individual talents and strengths.

A teacher looks beyond each child's face and sees inside their souls.

A teacher is someone with a special touch and a ready smile who takes time to listen to both sides and always tries to be fair.

A teacher has a caring heart that respects and understands.

A teacher is someone who can look past disruption and rebellion, and recognise hurt and pain.

A teacher teaches the entire child and helps to build confidence and raise self-esteemed.

A teacher makes a difference in each child's life and affects each family and the future of us all.

Quick facts:

1. I am posted to MGS.

2. I am teaching P2s and P3s.....

3. Also involved in Supplementary class on every Wed.

4. Japanese Elementary 2 lesson every Wed evening, 3 hours.
So you can see... I am occupied on Wed! Drop dead when return.

5. I am in charge of 3 CCAs......

6. They are.........a) Art and Craft
b) Violin
c) Instrumental Ensemble

7. I just brought student to attend the SYF art awards exhibition, as the school got Silver!!!!

8. I may be assigned duty to station with a mask at the school concourse. Let's pray i won't be picked, otherwise i have to report at 6.3oam!!!

9. Hope that I can have the entire cubical of her own and not just sharing with another colleague, so I can decorate the whole table. Hehe....

End of Teaching Practice

Date: 8th May, 2009

Time: 0930-1630

I annouced to my p2 class that i am not going to see them after today, and my ct will take over nxt week, the whole class was really shocked. Haha... but lesson as usual, cos nxt wk its their mid year exam wk. Can't slack.

Last day in school, and i still do markings. Really tiring.......

What surprise me the most is tat......as i announced them very last min.... my students did last min thank you cards to me during their recess! My eyes were wet la~~~

Last min work.... no time to colour... But good effort la... haha....

Wow.... seems like every cards have love shapes.... haha.....

The rabbit is cute!!! They are saying how much they love me... from road? all the way to sky... lolx... kids.

Wow..... a student even asked me to guess how much she Loves me....lolx...

And inside the card...... wow...... this is creative... lolx...

As for the p4s....... I never intend to let them know until the very last day.... but...... My CT told them!!!!!!!! Gosh......

So..... I received some gifts from them ....

I have a hard time packing up and bring all these things home... and I called a cab.... lolx.... but hm... really appreciate it...

It's been a long while since i last updated.

I am still alive. Heh...

Just feeling tired, yet there are more work coming up. My japs test coming up too.........

Dunno got time to study or not...... My students' test, my test... which one more impt?

Have to prepare my pupils for oral test... it's smth i have not done before... have been cracking my head how to scaffold them. I have a rough plan but feel like can do it in a more lively way. Still working on it. Any idea?

7 formal observations down! Whoohoo! Yeah....

Drowning in the sea of essay marking, art-and-craft(for S'pore kindness/graciousness week) and lesson plans........

I have to stay back 1 day till 8pm to help out the sch for a lecture to the PSLE pupils... and tat day falls on my Japs Test day.... sigh....

The lesson observation by my NSC have to be posponed to a week later due to school activities too.... sigh... Like what my SCM said, 买马票都没有那么准！

Must find our way to 苦中作乐. Heeheee....
McDelivery for our Breakfast on staff retreat day!

Had my lunch with my VP today. Had a great chat with him. He said he received one of the posting. Congrats to the only PDGE trainie. She is posted to ZHPS. It's a good news. I also wished to be posted to this school. Not bec I wished I can stay in an environment that I'd alr used to, but ZHPS is a good school with capable leaderships and great facilities, I must say.

*Pray hard!!

3rd day of Practicum

Date: 25 Feb 2009

Venue: ZHPS

Practicum started 2 days ago. So far so good. Just observe how other teachers teach. Today abit tiring, more periods for observations + 3 periods of contact time, and Japs lesson aft school!

I have my own table at the same resource room. Blissful and comfortable. The bad thing is the observation week is only 1 week. That means i've to "chiong" my lesson plans now!! But all the students are going to take their CA tests next week -_-" I hope I can start to teach aft the March sch holidays like other trainies. That would be better, at least I have more time to prepare, plan. I can then start to take over their classes to teach a new chapter. That would be better for me, I feel. Sadly I do not have right to request such an ideal way of handling a class to the trainie, unless the CTs think the same way i do and kindly let me take over after the term break.

I know I will survive, I know all my other classmates, too, will survive. Let's jia you together!
